The Porsche 356 Carrera 1500 was built as T1 Coupe, cabriolet and Speedster, with two models produced to cater for the American market. This model was built lighter, with lightweight aluminium doors, engine cover and bonnet and alloy wheels. By 1957 the GT Speedster weighed in at only 1786lb (810kg), with perspex being used instead of glass - other features included front brakes and bucket seats.
