Victory in the First 2.0L Cup Race

At Spa Classic

The inaugural 2-litre cup weekend was held at Spa Francorchamps as part of Peter Auto’s Spa Classic event. The first round saw 36 2.0L SWB Porsche 911’s tacking to the track in the new one make series.

Practice and Qualifying went well for all cars and it was really close right through the gird. The top 4 were seperated by less than a second and further down 9th to 20th again were sperated by less than a second. Out of our cars No 64 qualified on pole, no 167 9th and no 69 19th.

As the flag dropped the racing was just a close as qualifying and the top 5 cars set of having an amazing battle for the lead (see the video below). All cars had a great race and come the chequered flag it was our 1964 Porsche 901 that took the victory with a great drive again by Olly Bryant and Andrew Smith. The 167 car came home in a great 5th place on it’s first outing. Unfortunately the 69 car had a throttle break with minutes to go but was still classified and finished 21st. An amazing effort from the team and drivers all weekend that was rewarded with the results.
