Completion of a 1964 Porsche 901

FIA Racecar

With all our builds, the greatest effort is put into ensuring that all period correct details remain on the car. This was even more important on this build. Only 232 Porsche 901’s were built in 1964 and these cars had a few differences to the later Porsche 911 produced from January 1965. Even though the car was being built as a race car we made sure that these details remained on the car.

The car was stripped and taken back to bare metal. Then all the metal work was restored in house to ensure it was done to the highest possible standard. Next it had one of our custom built FIA approved roll cages installed before being painted in it’s original colour of Dolphin Grey.

Once painted we set about the build by fully trimming the interior with correct square weave carpet, lightweight SWB door cards, African Mahogany dash trim, black headlining and a correct 901 dash top. The suspension and every nut and bolt has been restored on the car with Koni struts all round, correct FIA approved brake set up, a correct 901 gearbox with race ratios and a Limited Slip Differential. Finally a correct 901/01 Aluminium cased 2.0 engine built to FIA specifications with Solex carburettors.

We are extremely happy with the end result and expect to see the car at many Historic Race meetings soon.
