A genuine 1965 built Porsche 911 that was completed on 19/11/1965.
This 911 was originally delivered to the USA were it spent most of it’s life and ended up racing in SCCA event’s in the early 00’s. We then purchased the car and imported it to the UK ready for us to restore into an FIA race car.
This restoration work began in 2017 and was all completed in house at Historika ready for the 2018 race season.
We stripped the car to a bare shell and then had the shell and body panels media blasted. After this the shell underwent over 500 hours of metal work to ensure all rust, corrosion and poor repairs were corrected and to make sure the shell was as it left the factory with all period correct pressing etc in place. Before being painted we then had one of our custom designed FIA roll cages installed. The shell was then finished in the period colour of Light Ivroy with black under seal in the front boot area, engine bay, arches, underfloor area and the cockpit was finished in satin black.
Whilst the metal and paintwork were being done all suspension, running gear, bright work and interior items were being restored. All nuts and bolts were prepared and re zinc plated, suspension components powder coated in matt black, all bright work re-chromed as well as new parts ordered where necessary.
The interior is finished with correct square weave carpet set, re-trimmed interior panels, custom built lightweight door cards, Recaro Profi SPG race seat, Schroth Enduro Harness, Momo Model 07 steering wheel, African Mahogany Dash Trim and restored SWB green gauges/dials. We also installed a lifeline 360 fire extinguisher system and a custom built brand new period correct wiring loom.
The car has been built according to FIA appendix K so all suspension, brakes, gearbox, engine etc are fully legal but built to our latest specifications with custom set Koni adjustable dampers that work with the torsion and anti roll bars to make a highly competitive race car. In fact this car has multiple podiums, pole positions and also a race win in the 2.0L Cup.
The car has always been maintained and supported buy ourselves meaning it is fully serviced and checked over after every outing. The engine was fully rebuilt in August 2019 and has done one race weekend since where it got a pole position and 3rd place finish at the Monza historic weekend in September 2019.
The car is also supplied with it’s original matching numbers engine case, 6 spare wheels and FIA papers valid until 2023.
